I met my subject after a long while since the first time i saw him. In front of a coffee cup he told me about his role in a burlesque show and about his own character called Marlon Dietrich, obviously inspired by the famous "Marlene".
His character intrigued me, and I proposed him to have a portrait session.
Before the session I only studied a light setup inspired by ancient paintings and I decided as I usually do not to plan any pose for my subject, leaving him free to play on his own, to express his character and his feelings.
