I encountered this lizard in the dark about an hour after sunset. It didn't like my light and hissed at me. These lizards are poisonous and I didn't want to walk around it while it was on the trail. Also they are endangered and it is illegal to harass, harm, or capture them. So I tried to annoy it with my stick but it didn't want to leave. Finally I got some water out of my pack and sprinkled a little on it and it decided to leave.
